Our traffic lawyers act for all persons wishing to apply for a work licence or a special hardship order in Qld. If you have been charged with an offence that results in losing your licence, you may be eligible to apply for either of these options.
A restricted work licence allows a person who has been charged with a drink driving or drug driving offence to drive for work purposes only, and within the hours stipulated by the court. A special hardship order allows a person caught committing a high-level speeding offence or breaching a good driving behaviour period to drive for any purpose, in order to prevent hardship as a result of losing their licence. This could be for work purposes as well as other specific purposes like medical appointments.
If a Magistrate refuses your application for a special hardship order, you cannot appeal the decision. Therefore, we highly recommend acquiring the help of a traffic lawyer to draft necessary documents for your restricted licence application at the outset.
Guest Lawyers offer free initial consultations (including in prisons) to assist with all work license and special hardship order applications in Qld. We act for all persons required to appear before the Magistrates and Supreme Court. We also conduct appeals in the Court of Appeal and High Court.
Our team of Brisbane criminal lawyers are licensed to practise across Australia and often travel to other states and territories to do so. Please get in touch with our lawyers either via Guest Lawyers’ email or by calling (07) 3211 3007.
